“Affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults — trauma, identity, and the work of staying.”
About
My practice is built for LGBTQIA+ adults. Some of what brings people in is specific to that — coming out, transition, family rupture, religious recovery, navigating healthcare. A lot of it isn't. It's the same trauma, anxiety, and disconnection that brings anyone to therapy, with the added layer of needing a therapist who already gets it.
I work primarily with trauma using a combination of EMDR, IFS, and somatic approaches, and I have substantial experience with substance use, recovery, and the long process of building a life worth staying in. I'm experienced with kink-aware and non-monogamous frames where relevant and I won't ask you to translate.
Sessions are 50 minutes, available evenings and weekends. I see clients via telehealth across New York and New Jersey and in person in Brooklyn.
